Robert and Thyra Cummings, built this Santa in 1962. For many years, Santa was displayed on the back of their garage on Brattle Street. Three years ago, Santa popped up on the campus of Vermont Center for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (Austine School), but with the closure of the Austine School, Santa had no place to live. This week, though, Santa popped up leaning against a barn at Windemere Farm on Upper Dummerston Road in Brattleboro. "It's good to see dad's Santa alive and well after 53 years," John Cummings, who donated his parent's creation to Austine School in 2012, posted on the Facebook page, "I grew up in Brattleboro VT."
