Brown Bag series includes technology, self care and more


BRATTLEBORO >> All Brown Bag Lunch Presentations take place from noon to 1 p.m. at the Robert H. Gibson River Garden, 157 Main St., and are free and open to the public.

On Tuesday, November 3, Cal LaFountain, an Electronic Services Support Specialist, and Jeanne Walsh, a Reference Librarian, talk about the wide range of technology and technology assistance available for patrons at the Brooks Memorial Library. They will introduce downloadable e-books, circulating Kindles and LCD projectors, and individual technology tutorials designed to help patrons improve their digital literacy. Laptops, mobile devices, and questions are welcome.

On Wednesday,November 4, learn how to slow down and learn to take time for yourself. Robin White, a certified Life Coach, offers an introduction to living a balanced and compassionate life.

On Thursday, November 5, join Rupa Cousins, who is an elder in the field of Mind/Body Healing, and has been a teacher and guide for over 30 years. She is one of a very few professionals certified in both Alexander Technique and the Rubenfeld Synergy Method.

On Friday, November 6, discover the basics of essential oils and how they can be incorporated into your everyday life with Alanna Lahue.

Performers as well as speakers of all kinds are invited to be a part of this series. If interested, please stop at the Stroll office at the River Garden, or call 802-246-0982. During November, the Front Gallery at the River Garden will feature "The Gold Cage," a revealing portrait of Vermont dairy farmers and the hidden lives of the migrant Mexican workers created by Vermont Folklife Center. The Rear Gallery will showcase "The Beauty of Relaxation," a collection of peaceful creations exposed through artwork as a means to reduce stress by Maureen Mansfield.
