Stevens welcomes Benjamin Harwood as associate engineer

BRATTLEBORO >> Stevens & Associates welcomes local native, Benjamin Harwood, EIT to their team as an Associate Engineer. Harwood has received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering degree from Tufts University, and is currently working toward his engineering license. Since graduation, he has worked as a consultant providing construction inspection services for government & commercial projects. Harwood has completed several certificate programs and received the Littleton Award from Tufts University, which recognizes worthy seniors who are active in professional or community affairs and have shown promise of becoming active and local alumni. His interests include historic preservation, adaptive reuse, timber frame construction and structural health monitoring.

The team looks forward to incorporating Harwood's field work experience and technical skills to meet the demands of a dynamic and growing company. In addition to working towards obtaining his professional engineering license, Harwood is currently involved with the structural design of commercial and residential projects.

Ownership change at Sunnyside Solar

BRATTLEBORO >> The Sunnyside Solar Store at 499 Marlboro Rd. in West Brattleboro has seen some changes in 2016.

Founder of the store, Dave Bonta, has transitioned ownership of the Sunnyside Solar Store to Joseph Mangum of Lamoureux Electric/Optional Power Systems as of the first of this new year. The Sunnyside Solar Store will continue at its regular spot in the red barn behind the Chelsea Royal Diner, and has been on winter hours (by appointment only) for the first two months of the year. The store will be staffed now beginning on Saturday, March 5, from noon to 6 p.m.

The regular schedule for hours of operation for the spring will be Tuesdays through Saturdays from Noon to 6 p.m., or otherwise by appointment. The Sunnyside Solar Store features many items of solar and renewables and is a solid resource for information about the technologies. Complete residential and small commercial photovoltaic (solar electric) systems, as well as solar domestic hot water and heat pump hot water systems are available with full installation capabilities.

Donovan promoted to president and COO of Leader Distribution

BRATTLEBORO >> Casey Donovan was recently promoted from Vice President and General Manager to President and Chief Operating Officer of Leader Distribution Systems, Inc. of Brattleboro (Pepsi Cola of Brattleboro/Northampton & Vermont Natural Spring Water, Co.)

John Leader, CEO of Leader Distribution Systems, Inc., said Donovan has 22 years experience in all facets of the company including the warehouse, night loading, beverage delivery and overseeing Food Service, Vending and Bottled Water Delivery Department.

He had been the Merchandising Manager and Sales Manager prior to earlier being name VP and GM.

Donovan graduated from the University of Southern Maine with course concentrations in business, marketing and advertising and is active with the Booster Club at Brattleboro Union High School. He resides in Putney with his wife, Jennifer, his daughter, Katelyn, a junior at Bloomsburg University in Pennsylvania, and son, Sean, a junior at Brattleboro Union High School.

Clark-Mortenson employees obtain promotions and designations

KEENE, N.H. >> Clark-Mortenson Insurance recently announced promotions that have recently taken place within the agency.

Amanda Macie, Jennifer McDaniels, Judy Brettell and Christine DeVre all have been promoted from Business Insurance Account Representatives to Business Insurance Account Managers. Linda LaBeau has been promoted from Claims Specialist to Senior Claims Specialist. These promotions were based on their performance and skill within the industry.

Clark-Mortenson also announced that Terri LaCroix, Personal Insurance Account Executive and Julie Reekie, Personal Insurance Account Executive have both recently obtained their Accredited Customer Service Representative Health designation. These are international designations developed by the Independent Insurance Agents of America to recognize the professionalism of customer service personnel in the industry. Recipients must complete five courses in personal insurance and pass exams for each course.
