River Valley employee promoted to underwriter

BRATTLEBORO -- Twelve-year River Valley Credit Union employee Donnette Hill has been promoted to Consumer Loan Underwriter, based in the Brattleboro Operations Center. Hill has many years of experience in teller operations and was a Branch Manager at two River Valley offices in recent years. As a branch manager, she received intensive consumer lending training. Her knowledge and experience in lending on the branch level has made her uniquely qualified for the Consumer Loan Underwriter position.

Hill plays softball and basketball for local teams, and has two sons, one is a High School Sophomore, and the oldest will be entering his Senior year at college.

New Vermont tour company leads small group tours to Europe

PUTNEY -- Travelers from Vermont and around the country can now visit Spain, Holland, Italy and France with Travel Fever Tours, a new company based in Putney. The company specializes in small group tours, each focusing on a theme or activity, such as cycling, birding, art, or the history and culture of a specific location in Europe.

Travel Fever Tours has been founded by long-time Putney residents Cicely Carroll and Bob Lawson who have spent large parts of the past decade living or working in Spain, Italy and Switzerland. After exploring Europe on their own, the two will now be sharing their favorite spots and activities with small groups of up to 12 people. Three tours have been scheduled for this fall, including a bicycle tour of Holland, a trip for birders to see migrating birds in Spain and a cultural tour of Andalucía in southern Spain. Another four tours are planned for the spring of 2014.

The company has previously organized a tour for painters to Tuscany, Italy, in conjunction with the River Gallery School in Brattleboro. More information about the company and its fall tours can be found at
