Stoneleigh-Burnham seeks art for gallery

GREENFIELD, Mass. -- The Stoneleigh-Burnham School Arts Department is accepting submissions for individual or group shows for 2013-2015. The gallery exhibits two shows per year, mid-September through October or early January through February.

The Geissler Gallery is open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and is located at 574 Bernardston Road. For a diagram of the exhibit space and gallery policies, visit

Exhibits use from 80 to 130 linear feet of wall-space. Artists must present a gallery talk to the school community (honorarium provided). Women artists are encouraged to apply. VAULT welcomes submissions to ‘Country Roads’

SPRINGFIELD -- Gallery at the VAULT (Visual Art Using Local Talent) announce the 2013 Open Wall exhibit schedule with "Country Roads" the theme for the first exhibit.

The Open Wall supports VAULT’s mission to encourage community arts by inviting all artists and crafters in the Springfield area (within a 30-mile radius) to display and sell their work in a non-juried setting. All age groups and levels of expertise are encouraged to participate.

"Open Wall is a unique program, artists only need to live in the area in order to participate," said Executive Director, Melody Reed. "It’s a wonderful way for budding artists to get their feet wet, and have the experience of exhibiting their art. We’re always delighted by the variety and talent of our Open Wall artists."

Artwork in watercolor, oils, acrylics pastels or charcoal, any fine art media is accepted, as well as photography, sculpture and mixed-media work. Guidelines are found at

All paintings must be framed and wired for hanging. Local artists are encouraged to participate. Drop off times at the gallery will be Thursday, March 7, from 5 to 7 p.m., and Friday, March 8, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Call the VAULT at 802-885-7111 to make an appointment to bring in your work during regular business hours.

The "Country Roads" exhibit kicks off on Friday, March 15 and runs through May 16. Gallery at the VAULT is at 68 Main St, Springfield.
