Castleton men's lax team 2-0 at home


BRATTLEBORO — Brattleboro Union High School graduates Sam Siegel, Nik Rancourt and Romello Lindsey have helped the Castleton University men's lacrosse team win both of its home games this season, including 11-8 over Plymouth State and 15-13 over Mount Ida.

Siegel, a sophomore attacker, already has four goals, two assists and 10 ground balls for the Spartans (2-3). He tallied twice against Mount Ida on Saturday, and buried one shot versus both Plymouth State and SUNY Potsdam.

Rancourt has scored two goals and dished out two assists. The junior attacker put one between the pipes in each of his team's home games.

Lindsey has started two out of five games this season. The freshman has 29 saves and 32 goals against.

Castleton will welcome Thomas of Maine on Saturday at noon and then host SUNY Canton on March 29 at 4 p.m.
