Castleton State College football team begins Sept. 7

CASTLETON -- Tickets for the 2013 Castleton State College football season go on sale Monday, Aug. 19. Ticket sales coincide with the official launch of, allowing fans to purchase their tickets online for Castleton sporting, cultural and other events on campus.

The Spartans begin their season on Sept. 7 at Plymouth St. and then return to Spartan Stadium for their home-opener a week later against Endicott. Castleton is coming off a historic season in which the team finished second in the Eastern College Football Conference with a 6-1 mark. The high-octane Spartans finished seventh in the nation in passing while averaging over 420 yards of offense and 32 points per game.

Fans may now purchase season and single-game tickets as well as tailgating passes on the new website. The site also allows fans to print from home, pick up at Spartan Stadium, or simply use their mobile device to gain entry on game day. Once again, Castleton is pleased to offer several seating options including general admission for $7, bleacher seats for $10 and $15, and premium stadium seats for $25 apiece.

BRATTLEBORO -- Brattleboro Union High School cross country will meet at the high school track on Monday at 9 a.m. Athletes should bring their permission and medical forms and be dressed to run. Practice will last about two hours. Contact coach John Dimick at 802-257-0025 with questions.
