Castleton's LaBeau has fanned 15 batters

BRATTLEBORO >> Michael LaBeau, who was a feared pitcher and hitter when playing for Bob Lockerby's varsity baseball team at Bellows Falls Union High School, is now a junior hurler on Castleton University's staff.

The right-hander has appeared in five games and has 11 innings of work this season. He has struck out 15, walked six, and given up 14 hits.

Last year, LaBeau fanned 22 total batters and finished with a team-best 0.99 Earned Run Average. He also threw five innings of shutout ball during his team's 17-0 victory over Colby-Sawyer.

The 6-6 Spartans will host a doubleheader with Lyndon State College on April 2, with those contests scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.
