Rehearsals start on Monday, Sept. 12, from 7 to 9 p.m. and continue each Monday night until the Saturday, Dec. 1 concert at 7:30 p.m., at the First Baptist Church in Chester. The second concert is at the First Congregational Church UCC, 77 Main St., in Springfield, on Sunday, Dec. 2, at 3 p.m. Rehearsals take place at the Springfield Unitarian-Universalist Church, 21 Fairground Road .
There are no auditions, but the ability to read music is helpful, and singers must be able to sing accurately. The December concerts will be a cappella and the ability to sing on pitch accurately is important.
Olsson has chosen a program of songs including Agnus Dei by Samuel Barber, "O Magnum Mysterium" by Tomás Luis de Victoria, "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Ives and "Little Drummer Boy" (arr. Katherine Davis) to name a few. For more information, e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
