BRATTLEBORO -- The Chesterfield, N.H., Middle School girls soccer team had its second undefeated season in a row. The squad went 10-0 during the regular season, 5-0 in the Westmoreland Tournament and won the Connecticut Valley League Championship.

Chesterfield outscored its opponents 97-5, with 14 different players scoring at least one goal. Of the team’s 15 total games, 13 of their opponents were shut out.

"It was an incredibly talented team that had a fantastic season this year," said Chesterfield coach Jay VanStechelman. "What truly marked my girls’ season and was the cornerstone of their efforts, was their unselfish and beautiful team play. Every aspect of their on-field play, including goaltending, their communication on the field, and sportsmanship, were all among the best in our league. They took instruction well, worked hard, and were easy to coach. They were disciplined day to day in practice, and also on the field on game day."
