Chesterfield store robbed at gunpoint; police search for suspects

CHESTERFIELD, N.H. -- The Chesterfield Police Department is looking for two suspects who robbed the J&J Discount Store on Glebe Road just off of Route 9 Monday afternoon.

Police say one white male in his 20s entered the store at around 4 p.m. with an unknown caliber blue steeled semi-automatic handgun and demanded money.

Witnesses described him as about 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighing 140 pounds, and wearing black baggy pants, a purple hooded sweatshirt, dark colored sunglasses and a black baseball hat with an unknown emblem.

Police say he left the store with an undisclosed amount of cash and got into a white or gray, two-door car, possibly a Honda Accord, which was driven by the second suspect.

The suspects took off northbound on Glebe Road, the police say.

Chesterfield Police Lt. Duane Chickering said his department is working with other area police departments to see if the armed robbery is related to any other robberies in the area.

No one was hurt during Monday's incident.

" We have good video and we've received some tips," Chickering said. "We are trying to put it all together. Everything is on the table at this point."
