Children to lead service of worship at Asbury Church
CHESTERFIELD, N.H. -- This Sunday Asbury Church of Chesterfield offers a unique service of worship. Control of the service will be turned over to our youngest members. The youth (along with a couple of adults) have spent several weeks working on a musical to perform for our community.
The musical, "God in the City," talks about a group of kids who work together to have save a homeless shelter in their community. Over the last several weeks, not only have the children worked on songs and lines, but they have learned about the economic ministries around our community.Additionally, Asbury Church has reminded our youngest members that our church is their home as much as it is the oldest of members.
Those attending on Sunday are invited, if they are able, to bring a non-perishable food item, blanket, or other item that can be donated to the food pantry or a local homeless shelter. Service begins at 10 a.m. and a period of fellowship and refreshment follows the performance.
Asbury is a progressive and Wesleyan family of faith, and invites the community to attend worship. For more information on the service or for directions visit chesterfieldumc.org.
