The Church World Service Kit Drive is under way. First Baptist Church will be working to collect supplies for "Gifts of the Hearts," the school, health and baby "kits" during April. School kits give children in impoverished schools, refugee camps, or other difficult settings some of the basic tools for learning, such as notebooks, ruler, pencils, eraser, pencil sharpener and box of 24 count crayons.

Hygiene or health kit includes one hand towel, one washcloth, wide tooth comb, nail clipper, bar of soap, toothbrush and band aids. To assemble a baby care kit, one needs to include six cloth diapers, two T-shirts, two washcloths, two gowns and two diaper pins, sweater and two receiving blankets.

Processing funds of $2 per kit are also needed. These kits will be brought to Bennington in May to be picked up by a Church World Service tractor-trailer, and brought to New Windsor, Md., to the Brethren Service Center, where they will be sorted, and repacked to ship to designated impoverished areas. Detailed directions for this project will be available on a display table at church. For information, call Sylvia Seitz, at 802-257-4216.

Worship on Sunday begins at 10 a.m. with Sunday School at 10:15 a.m.
