Circus troupe presents an inaugural show
The building has been open to classes since June, but this is the first time a show has been put on under the vast high-ceilinged space. NECCA welcomes award winning guest company LAVA from New York City performing and teaching as part of the 21st Circus Workshop Weekend that runs from Friday to Sunday.
LAVA will bring its newest work, "A Goddessey" for one show only. It is a 75-minute piece that takes the form of a survival story. A Traveler journeys from a gray and patriarchal present to a rainbow-colored feminist future with the help of ancestors and guides, geologic and otherwise. All ages welcome — some mature content.
The performance is in NECCA's new building is at 10 Town Crier Drive, Brattleboro. The building is accessible and has adjacent parking. Tickets are $10 to $25 and available for advance purchase at necenterforcircusarts.org. For information, call 802-254-9780.
