Citizen Science offered for homeschoolers

GRAFTON -- Homeschooling families are invited to visit The Nature Museum at Grafton on Thursday, May 9, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for a program titled "Follow That Bird: Phenology, Citizen Science, and Ornithology."

Nature Museum naturalist Lynn Morgan will lead the group on a a bird walk, then help them to enter the data they have collected on a citizen science website. Participants will learn about the fascinating and important field of phenology, the study of recurring plant and animal life cycle stages.

The Nature Museum is located at 186 Townshend Road in Grafton. This program is intended for homeschooling children ages 9 to 14 and their families. Those attending should dress for the outdoors and wear sturdy walking shoes. Bring a lunch and a refillable water bottle.

The program costs $18 per child for Nature Museum members ($36 maximum per family) and $20 per child for non-members ($40 maximum per family). Parents may attend with their children for free.
