Climate Caf : The effects of global warming on mental health
Her talk will take place on Nov. 28, at 5:45 p.m. at Brooks Memorial Library, 224 Main Street.
As always, the Caf is free and light refreshments will be available.
How does global warming effect our mental health? How do we respond to these effects? This workshop will give an overview of some of the national, state, and local initiatives addressing the negative psychological impacts of global warming. It also will explore practical skills to build resilience to enhance the capacity of individuals and groups to cope with the inevitable changes affecting all levels of society
MacKenzie's work with the International Transformational Resilience Coalition and as an Emotionally Focused Therapist creates conversations within the public and private sectors to build capacity for connection and resilience.
She is a clinical social worker and has a private psychotherapy practice in Vermont and New Hampshire. She is also a member of the N.H. Disaster Behavioral Health Response Team.
The Climate Cafe is a project of Post Oil Solutions that convenes the 4th Tuesday of most months.
