Whitingham-Halifax Lions

JACKSONVILLE >> The next meeting of the Whitingham-Halifax Lions will be on Monday, Jan. 4 at Mello's Retreat, Academy Road, Jacksonville. The guest speaker will be Joanne Bourbeau, the Northeast Regional Director of the Humane Society of the US, based in Jacksonville

Bourbeau will talk about her efforts as the statewide leader of VermontDART, a non-profit devoted to the rescue and care of pets and other animals in the event of disasters. She will highlight "WinDART," the volunteer team now being organized to respond to emergencies in Windham County.

Dinner will begin at 7 p.m., and the speaker will follow.
