Woman's Club holds annual meeting

BELLOWS FALLS >> Members of the Bellows Falls Woman's Club held their annual meeting for the club year on May 10.

A luncheon was hosted by the Executive Board. Special guests were Fran Derlinga, outgoing President of the General Federation of Women's Clubs of Vermont, and Joyce Lindamood, outgoing GFWC-VT Treasurer and newly installed President of the organization, 2016-2018, effective in July.

Club President Dianne Potter presided. She presented roses to the club's former presidents. She also outlined plans for the upcoming club year, which will begin on Sept. 13.

The club will present a scholarship to a graduating student at Bellows Falls Union High School during the Class Night ceremony.

The Executive Board will meet over the summer to plan the meetings, establish committees, and prepare a budget for approval.

Evaluators give feedback to Toastmasters

BRATTLEBORO >> The three speakers at this week's Toastmasters meeting are Lindsay Cox, Lee Ives Tice and Timothy Maciel. Each speaker will have an assigned evaluator who will provide two to three minutes of feedback.

Toastmaster of the Evening, Annamarie Pluhar, will lead the meeting which begins at 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 26, at the Marlboro College Grad Center, 28 Vernon St., 2nd floor.

The meeting will also include extemporaneous speaking exercises.

Guests are always welcome and refreshments are provided. There is no pressure to speak, and members are working at their own pace and with assigned mentors to help them meet their speaking and leadership goals.
