Vicki Hall recognized by Order of the Eastern Star
BRATTLEBORO >> The Order of the Eastern Star is a concordant body of the Freemasons, and involves both Masons and female members who are related to a Master Mason, and are the primary leaders of the order.
At the June 19 meeting of Bingham Chapter, Stanley Gould, the husband of the Grand Matron, Sherill Gould, attended the meeting. His purpose was to present Vicki Hall with a commission as Grand Representative for the Massachusetts Grand Chapter.
A Grand Representativeship is an honor given to local members for outstanding service to their local Chapter. This was particularly special as her daughter LeighAnn Kurra received a Grand Representative commission last year for North Carolina.
Hall serves the chapter as an Associate Matron. She is an RN working at the Franklin County Branch of Bay State Medical Center in Greenfield, Mass. She and her husband, Jon, are EMTs with Rescue Inc. Her daughter, LeighAnn, is the Chapter Treasurer and is employed as an accountant with C & S Grocers.
Newell recognized for 55 years of service
BRATTLEBORO >> Harold Newell is a Past Master of Blazing Star Lodge of Freemasons in Townshend. He served as District Deputy Grand Master of Masonic District 8 and is presently serving as Deputy Grand Chaplain.
At the Grand Lodge Annual Communication, at the Kellington Grand Summit Lodge on June 15, he was recognized for 55 years of service to the Fraternity of Vermont Freemasons.
Brattleboro Lodge of Freemasons installs new officers
BRATTLEBORO >> Earlier this Spring, on Saturday, April 30, Brattleboro Lodge of Freemasons installed its newly elected officers for 2016 to 2017.
Installing Master was District Deputy Grand Master Robert Baldauf, assisted by newly appointed lodge Marshal, serving as this last year as Grand Junior Deacon, was Steve Farrington.
Elected as Worshipful Master for the coming year is Jeffrey Anderson-Burgos. He graduated from Holyoke Community College a year ago with high honors and is now a student at the University of Massachusetts in the honors program majoring in political science. Additionally, he is serving as a legislative intern in the office of one of the Masshusetts State Representatives out of Springfield, Mass.
