BELLOWS FALLS >> The Dec. 8 meeting of the Bellows Falls Woman's Club will be held at the United Church, School Street, beginning at 1:30 p.m. Members will make holiday table favors to be given to area agencies and homes.
At the Nov. 10 meeting of the club, members and guests heard a program on renowned area author and illustrator, the late Tasha Tudor. Kathleen Meeks, a Tudor family friend and former employee, recalled time spent with Tasha as her private nurse as well as when she served as the Executive Director of the Tasha Tudor Museum in West Brattleboro. The club's refreshment committee set a formal tea table and served a special tea blend made for Tasha.
Club members donated many winter items such as new socks, warm hats, gloves, mittens, scarves and hand warmer packets to the Greater Falls Warming Shelter which opened on Nov. 15.
Club members will provide cookies for the Dec. 5 Rotary Club sponsored movie and time with Santa at the town hall. Cookies should be taken to the Lower theater by 1 p.m. or left prior to that at Village Square Booksellers. Members have signed up to attend the Kurn Hattin holiday luncheon and concert on Dec. 10. Also coming up is Central Elementary School's Dec. 16 "shopping day," when club members help wrap gifts the children have chosen for family members.
The Bellows Falls Woman's Club is a member of the General Federation of Women's Clubs whose signature project is domestic violence awareness and prevention.
BRATTLEBORO >> The Brattleboro Camera Club hosts its monthly meeting on Dec. 14 at 6:30 p.m. at Brooks Memorial Library. This month will be a celebration of the Hholiday season, and photos by members will be viewed. Open to the public.
