Brattleboro Camera Club

BRATTLEBORO -- The Battleboro Camera Club will meet Monday, March 11, at 6:30 p.m. at Brooks Memorial Library, 224 Main St.

The evening will feature a program by Jeff Newcomer, "Getting It Right in the Digital Camera." Newcomer, a physician who lives in Chesterfield, N.H., is noted for his photographs of the Monadnock region and southern Vermont. Widely exhibited, his pictures encourage viewers to appreciate and protect our rare blend of natural beauty and human landscape features. For a stunning display of pictures of Dummerston, go to

Club members will bring examples of their own work for comment and review. There is no charge for this program and the public is invited to attend.

Bellows Falls Woman’s Club

BELLOWS FALLS -- Members of the Bellows Falls Woman’s Club will meet on Tuesday, March 12, at the United Church of Bellows Falls on School Street beginning at 1:30 p.m. The program presenter will be Chris Sherwin, local glass blower and owner of Sherwin Artglass. He will speak of his art and show examples of his fine creations. Members will sign up to attend the annual, club sponsored arts show at Bellows Falls Union High School on April 9.

At the club’s Feb. 12 meeting, members heard Barbara Ternes, executive director of Parks Place Community Resource Center outline the mission and programs of the agency.

The local club is a member of the national and state General Federation of Women’s Clubs. The state federation’s winter meeting, scheduled for Feb. 9, was postponed due to poor weather. It will be held on March 16 at the Black River Senior Center in Ludlow. Local club members will attend.

Daughters of Isabella

BRATTLEBORO -- The Daughters of Isabella Ave Maria Circle No. 128 held a meeting on Feb. 12 in Rand Hall. Rebecca Koski, regent, presided over the meeting.

Members are reminded to bring in all tickets and money for the "April Shower" calendars to the Tuesday night meeting on March 12. The group’s turn for making soup for the "Soup Supper" before Stations of the Cross is March 22.

St. Louis Circle is hosting Queen Isabella Day on April 7. Members interested in attending should contact the regent. Mass for the Living Daughters of Isabella will be on April 28 at the 10:30 Mass.

The next meeting will be on Tuesday, April 9, at 6 p.m. in Rand Hall at St. Michael’s School on Walnut Street in Brattleboro.

Daughters of Isabella is a service organization open to Catholic women over the age of 18. Membership information is available at 802-257-1393.

Tri Town Collectors Club

BRATTLEBORO -- The Tri Town Collectors Club will hold a special scholarship fundraising committee meeting during its show and collector meetings on Saturday, March 9, at the Holiday Inn Express on Chickering Drive in Brattleboro.

Area collectors of all ages are invited to meet various hobbyist. The event, which will offer door prizes, begins at 9 a.m. with a club business meeting during the shows start up session. Special door prizes this month include sports cards, donated stamps from a Bellows Falls collector and a group of Indian head cents, buffalo nickels and a collection of numismatic reading material.

After a family fun day of buying and selling collectibles, dealers will join the Tri Town Numismatic Society at 3:30 p.m. for its monthly meeting.

There is no admission charge and anyone looking to sell or trade their collectible items such as coins, comic books, sports/postcards and other interesting items may set up a card table by calling show chairman Joe Fuller at 802-297-1274 or e-mail

This collectors expo will be followed by Brattleboro shows regularly on the second Saturday of the month.
