Coaches Versus Cancer game is Jan. 19


WESTMINSTER >> The Bellows Falls and Springfield girls basketball teams will face off in the Coaches Versus Cancer games on Tuesday, Jan. 19, at Holland Gymnasium. The junior varsity game will begin at 5:30 p.m. and the varsity showdown will follow at 7 p.m. Proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society.

BRATTLEBORO >> In Sunday's men's basketball play at the Gibson-Aiken Center, Dixon's defeated Cota & Cota 92-89, Brattleboro Ford prevailed over Pancake Design 89-84, Green Mountain Creamery flattened Al's Towing 70-54, Southern Vermont Painting repelled Rice 61-48, GS Coating denied DMI 74-70, and Chroma outscored GS Precision 73-62.

Ryan Boyle and Tanner Freeman teamed up for 11 trifectas and paced Dixon's with 35 and 23 points respectively. The top guns for the other teams were: Cota & Cota's Winston Sailsman (27 points), Brattleboro Ford's Corey Bauer (26), Pancake's Adam Margrave (28), Al's Towing's Ryan McClelland (12), Green Mountain Creamery's Brandon Clark (18), Rice's Patrick Lallo (15), SVP's Joel Porter (26), GS Coating's Zane Bullins (20), DMI's Kody Macelman (27), Chroma's Lynden Bunker (28), and GSP's Chris Worden (18).

Southern Vermont Painting was the only team to hold its opponent below 50 points. Playing lockdown defense were Todd Pacheco, Jared Pacheco, Darren Pacheco, Chad Cutting, Kyle Whitworth, Isaac Earle, Joel Porter and Seth Christmas.
