University of Houston

HOUSTON, Texas -- Eric Yager, of Brattleboro, Vt., graduated from the University of Houston with a degree in Business Administration.

Excelsior College

ALBANY, N.Y. -- Sean M. McCarty, now a resident of Hampton, N.H., recently earned a bachelor of science degree in Nuclear Engineering Technology from Excelsior College.

While attending Excelsior College, McCarty maintained a 4.0 academic average. At graduation he was awarded the Marvin Curling Memorial Award, which is awarded to a student who has obtained outstanding academic achievement while pursuing a degree in the nuclear technology program.

McCarty completed a six-year enlistment in the U.S Navy as a nuclear machinist mate serving aboard the fast-attack submarine USS Miami. He was honorably discharged in 2007 and since then has been a nuclear systems operator at the Seabrook Nuclear Power Station in Seabrook, N.H.

He will be entering the MBA program at the University of New Hampshire in September of this year.

McCarty’s parents are William and Carlene McCarty of Brattleboro, Vt.

University of Rochester

ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Tanner Bailey Mitchell Degenkolb, a junior majoring in computer science at the University of Rochester, has been named to the dean’s list for academic achievement for the spring 2013 semester.

Degenkolb, of Putney, Vt., is the son of Charles Degenkolb and a graduate of Bellows Falls Union High School in Westminster, Vt.

University of Massachusetts Lowell

LOWELL, MASS. -- Adam Keil, of Putney, was recently recognized for achieving academic distinction at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. Keil, majoring in sound recording technology, was named to the dean’s list at UMass Lowell for the Spring 2013 semester.
