Colonels split with Mass. foes

BRATTLEBORO -- The Brattleboro boys lacrosse team split two games with opponents from Massachusetts last week.

On Thursday, the Westfield High Bombers played a strong second half outscoring the Colonels 6-1 in the 3rd and 4th quarters enroute to a 12-4 victory. Brennen Zolnoski (2 goals, 1 assist), Sam Siegel and Tanner Freeman scored for the Colonels.

On Saturday, Brattleboro put together a strong second half of its own to defeat East Longmeadow, 10-6. Down 4-3 to the Spartans, the purple and white scored six of the seven 3rd quarter goals. Perry Legg’s hustle created a fast break scoring opportunity for Robyn Avery to set the tone for the quarter.
