Concert by Anthony Davis and Jason Robinson


Journey to Mutum to be at Whittemore Theater, Marlboro College on Friday at 7:30 p.m. with a concert by Yawanawá tribe members. Eight Yawanawá tribe members have journeyed to the U.S. from their home, in the remote Amazon forest of Acre, Brazil, to sing ancestral songs, play traditional games, and share their rich culture, in an effort to save their way of life, their language, and their spiritual heritage from extinction. Music for a Sunday Afternoon: Jazz with a concert by Anthony Davis and Jason Robinson on Sunday, Oct. 30 at 3 p.m. in Ragle Hall, Serkin Center at the college. With Duke Ellington, Billy Strayhorn, and the post-60s jazz avant-garde as central reference points, Robinson and Davis bring together their formidable experience. Their 2010 duo release, Cerulean Landscape, may be found on Clean Feed Records.
