Damez' debut is April 23


BRATTLEBORO — The Elm City Derby Damez, a flat-track roller derby team based out of the Monadnock Region, will open its seventh season on Saturday, April 23. The bout, held at the Nelson Withington Skating Facility in Brattleboro, will be against United Front, an all-and-no gender inclusive team from Pioneer Valley Roller Derby, .

Admission is by donation. The match will start at 6 p.m.

The Derby Damez, a skater owned and operated team, have eight games on the 2016 schedule — six at its Withington home rink at 61 Guilford St. The season also includes bouts with Seacoast Pixies, Central Vermont, Boyz of Summer, and Brawlin' Broads.

The Elm City co-captains are Daisy Duke Nukem and Demonic Delight. Also on the area team are: Spark An Burn, Wench Press, GanGreene, Yeti Krueger, Raina Terror, Smackajawea, The Laurax, TenderizeHer, and jam coach DeathAnn Devastation.
