Dummerston’s Sunday worship is a Traditional Memorial Day Service


DUMMERSTON -- Worship at the Dummerston Congregational Church on Sunday, May 25, will be a traditional Memorial Day Service with prayers for our nation and for those serving and those who have served. The scripture is Matthew 5: 43-48, and the sermon is "Precious in the Sight of the Lord."

The Children’s story will be the story of the Ascension of Jesus as told in Acts 1:6-11. Children begin in worship and then go to an open classroom under the direction of Billie Slade, Church School Director.

Wednesday at 7 p.m. there will be a discussion time about becoming and Open and Affirming congregation. Saturday at 4 p.m. is a Blessing of the Animals Service. All pets are welcome, but must be in a cage or on a leash. There will be a hands on blessing of each pet, and prayers for all creation. Next Sunday, June 1, there will be a quarterly meeting of the congregation after worship.

Worship begins at 9:30 a.m. The church is located in Dummerston Center, 1536 Middle Road, Dummerston. The UCC is a Green Justice Congregation of The United Church of Christ.
