Easter continues on Sunday at Guilford Community Church

GUILFORD -- The Easter story is too big for any one Sunday and the music too wonderful for any one service, so Guilford Community Church, United Church of Christ, will continue the celebration on April 27 at 10 a.m. There will be two anthems, "The Man in the Middle" (an Appalachian carol) and "I Will Arise" to accompany a sermon based on the story of Doubting Thomas and the profound message of love found in Ephesians 3:14-19.

"Rooted and Grounded in Love" is the phrase lifted from Ephesians and used as the basis of the liturgy. Anyone wishing to sing in the choir should arrive by 9 a.m. for the choir rehearsal. The Sunday School will also continue with lessons focused on the Easter Story.

A reception follows the service and a special member meeting to vote on the purchase of the property next to the church will take place after the fellowship hour. All members are encouraged to attend this important gathering.

Guilford Community Church is an Open and Affirming Congregation of the United Church of Christ.
