Eco/anti-consumerism activist Reverend Billy to read from new book at Everyone's Books

Legendary performance artist and eco/anti-consumerism activist Reverend Billy will be in Brattleboro tonight at 7 p.m. for a public reading from his new book, "The Earth Wants YOU," available now via City Lights Publishers, at Everyone's Bookstore, 25 Elliot St.

For the better part of the 21st century, Reverend Billy and the Stop Shopping Choir have spread their message, from Occupy Wall Street to the St. Louis offices of Monsanto (and the police station in nearby Ferguson, Missouri) to the stage at Joe's Pub at the Public Theater in New York, and out into arenas opening for Neil Young.

"The Earth Wants YOU" will inspire readers and listeners to challenge the poisons, consumerism, and hate that are killing our planet. Reverend Billy was also a 20+ year resident of the Bay Area.

Laurie Anderson says, "You must check out the newest from my favorite transcendent and down to earth preacher.
