Edwards pours in 35 points

BRATTLEBORO - DMI is the only undefeated team in the Brattleboro Recreation & Parks Department men's basketball league and is atop the Division 2 standings with a 5-0 record. Sportsmen's/Lawton (4-1) currently rules Division 1 and there's a three-way tie atop the D-3 standings between Walker Farm (4-1), Basketball Joes (4-1) and Vermont Pressure Wash (4-1).

Scott Edwards drained eight trifectas and scored a leaguehigh 35 points, but his UNFI team still lost to Vermont Pressure Wash 85-73 on Friday. Brattleboro Subaru Ford's Shane Spivey buried nine treys and racked up 29 points, while five different players finished with 26 points including Walker Farm's Robby Gesnic, Community High School of Vermont's Danial Santos, Josh Bartholomew of Deerfield Inn, and W&B Maintenance's duo of Ryan Droke and Kenny Howe.

The closest contest took place on Sunday, when Cota & Cota edged Local Sports Team 67-65. Troy Snell paced the winners with 20 points, while Kris Kachelmeyer scored a gamehigh 25 in a losing effort.
