Ellis silvers in 800

DURHAM, N.H. -- Brattleboro Union High School graduate Jacob Ellis, who is now a freshman at Bowdoin College in Maine, placed second in the 800 race during the UNH Invitational track and field meet on April 13.

At the halfway mark, Ellis was 10 meters behind the leader in third place and Greene was next in fourth. On the backstretch of the second lap, the pair made their move, Ellis took the lead with 200 meters to go, and the duo battled it out in the final 100 meters with Greene prevailing by just .05 seconds. Ellis was clocked in 1:52.39.

This meet was a mixture of Division 1, 2 and 3 colleges. Jacob’s time for this race ranks him first in the New England Small College Athlete Conference and fifth Nationally for Division 3 Colleges.
