Equilibrium hosts Love is the Way
BRATTLEBORO -- Equilibrium hosts a four-day Love is the Way Extravaganza from Thursday to Sunday with events for all ages and interests at 14 Elm St.
Events begin with the One Billion Rising Dance Party on Valentine’s Day from 8 to 11 p.m., featuring live music by Atom Planet and DJ-J.
The dance is part of a worldwide movement on the 15th anniversary of V-Day which invites one billion women and those who love them to rise up, stand up, walk out, dance and demand an end to violence against women. V-Day wants the world to see our collective strength, our numbers, our solidarity across borders. It is an act of solidarity, demonstrating to women the commonality of their struggles and their power in numbers and a refusal to accept violence against women and girls as a given. A $10 suggested donation benefits the Women’s Freedom Center, It is sponsored by Families First. Learn more about this global project at www.onebillionrising.org.
On Friday, the Love is the Way Extravaganza continues with Moovin’ & Groovin’ Love & Friendship with the Valentine Fairy from 4 to 6 p.m., led by Su Eaton of Peaceable Village. An interactive concert (geared towards ages 1-8 and those who love to sing, move and be silly) will be followed by Peaceable Village Family Dance. Admission to his all ages event is $5 per family. Proceeds benefit Jennifer Esposito, former Jamaica resident who lost her home and belongings in a fire.
Friday events also include a Cacao Ceremony with Heartblood Cacao from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Take time to slow down, gather together and enjoy the sweetness of ceremonial cacao and a guided meditation on bringing attention to the effects of this cacao. Suggested donation is $7.
People will then transition together into Ecstatic Dance from 8 to 10 p.m., led by DJ Shaktify (i.e. Elizabeth Kelley). For more information, visit www.heartbloodcacao.com. Please eat lightly prior to attending to allow for fuller absorption of the cacao.

On Saturday, people are invited to be in Love, Creatively, Sustainably and with Community all day.
Events begin with Yoga of Love led by Jeanelle Boyer from 10 a.m. to noon. Fall in love with your self all over again. Through posture practice, pranayama and guided meditation, clear away the veils and connect back to who you really are. Admission is $10 per person.
There will be Reiki Walk-ins from noon to 2 p.m. Donation is $1 per minute.
Events continue with Up-cycled Sewing Skill Share & Love Note Creations, led by Su Eaton of Sunsu Creations, from 1 to 4 p.m. Bring your own sewing machine and materials. Admission is $7, with proceeds benefitting Brattleboro Area Hospice and Jennifer Esposito.
From 4 to 7 p.m. there will be a free Fashion Show Dress Rehearsal led by Su Eaton, followed by an Eco-Chic Interactive Fashion Performance from 7 to 9 p.m. Admission is $7-10, free for children 4 and under.
Proceeds to benefit the Brattleboro Area Hospice & Jennifer Esposito.
Saturday winds up with a Dance Party with DJ-J from 9 to 11 p.m., featuring body painting by Heady Art & Love Note Creations. Suggested donation is $7. Proceeds benefit the Brattleboro Area Hospice and Jennifer Esposito.
On Sunday, the extravaganza features a Sound Meditation with sound healer David Kuhn from 10 to 11:30 a.m., featuring tuned crystal singing bowls and gong meditation. Some blankets and pillows will be available but feel free to bring you own. Admission is on a sliding scale.
Walk-In Massage Therapy Service with Lauren Bernozzi is from noon to 2 p.m., by donation of $1 a minute.
The extravaganza concludes with Romantic Attraction & the Longing for Bliss with Luz Elena Morey from 1 to 3 p.m. Come for an afternoon of spicy hot chocolate and contemplating our longings for ecstasy, intimacy and the feeling of wholeness. Presenter and transpersonal drama therapist Luz Elena Morey has done years of masters-level research on this topic and the presentation will include music and sound experiences. Donation is $5 per person.
