First Dance Fair of the season at BS&L


BRATTLEBORO >> On Friday at 3:30 p.m. at Brattleboro Savings and Loan on Main Street you can see the first dance fair of the festival season. This will be a preview of the Dance that will fill Brattleboro in the next two weeks. Hear from locals who have been involved in the past years. People will come and discuss how important it is to have our events drive the economy and show off the incredible talents of the community. In addition to hearing speakers you will see previews of many of the dances that will be performed at this years festival. Joining us will be Amity D'Angelies with belly dance, A hip hop group, Millie Heckler and a preview of the Footloose dance that we are spreading all over town (with cardboard Kevin of course). Also, if you come to a preview to purchase your Full Immersion Festival Pass you can purchase it at 50 percent off the full ticket price. Tickets to all of the concerts, receptions and Dinners will be available as well!

New to this years festival is A Black Tie BBQ, A Reception at 118 Elliot St, a Contact Jam, more live music, more performances and their first ever promenade performance around the grounds of Rudyard Kiplings House. In addition as always the festival will present a Thursday afternoon Gala at the Latchis Theater, a Friday evening Gala at the Latchis Theater and several Stone Church Series Concerts. SVDF will kick off a series of amazing events this Friday. Also catch them afterwords participating in the "River to River" opening by leading a dance parade and showing a preview of work that will be shown at this years fest.

The Southern Vermont Dance Festival will take place from July 14 through 17 with an exciting four days of dance classes, lectures and performances hosted in the one and only Brattleboro Festival attendees will be invited to attend dance performances each evening as well as a choice of many different classes each day. There will be many amazing opportunities offered to the professional dancer, dance student, and dance enthusiast. Complete with performances, community events, classes, receptions and a Black Tie Barbecue, SVDF is an exciting experience for all!
