First union service of three local churches set for Sunday at Centre Congregational


BRATTLEBORO -- The first union service of three local churches of the United Church of Christ will take place this Sunday, June 29, at 10 a.m. hosted by Centre Congregational Church in downtown Brattleboro. The guest churches are First Congregational Church, West Brattleboro, and Guilford Community Church. The Rev. Carra McFadden of Centre Church will lead worship. All are welcome.

The monthly Moment for Peace will take place on Gallery Walk evening, from 5:30 to 6 p.m. Friday in the Fireside Parlor. Cheryl Wilfong will lead the meditation, which is open to the public, on the theme: Peace and Freedom. She teaches meditation at Vermont Insight Meditation Center and is the author of "The Meditative Gardener."

A site visit will be announced shortly, relating to the designation of Centre Church as part of the Partners for Sacred Places, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting America’s historic houses of worship and strengthening the members and communities they serve.
