Food Co-op offers free fun workshops


BRATTLEBORO >> The Brattleboro Food Co-op is offering some fun classes this summer for you and your kids. Join us in our cool community room and kitchen to explore science, bake berry pies and more.

Every Friday, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., KidsPlayce Story and Snack Time. 20 Elliot Street. Free.

Saturday, July 9, from 10 to 11:30 a.m., Science Explorer's Club. Food, the environment, pollution and activism all combined in a fun exploration of science. Free. Registration required.

Tuesday, July 12 from 9 to 10 a.m., Garden Fun. Come weed, water, play and make art in the BFC Whetstone Cafe patio. Free. Registration required.

Monday, July 25, from 6 to 8 p.m., "Make it and Take it." Fun recipes for zucchini with Marilyn Chiarello, educator, vegan chef and healthy lifestyle coach.

Thursday, July 28, 10 to 11:30 a.m., Hand Pies. Using the Harvest of the Month fruit, berries, we will make some sweet treats in our kitchen. Free. Registration required.

If you would like to assist in any of the above classes, please let me know. Also, we are looking for shareholders who would like to read to kids at Kidsplayce on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of the month.
