Fourth Sunday after Epiphany to be observed at West B Congregational
WEST BRATTLEBORO -- Feb. 2 is the Fourth Sunday after Epiphany and Communion Sunday at the First Congregational Church United Church of Christ, 880 Western Ave. in West Brattleboro. Pastor Joseph Amico’s sermon will be "We See Jesus Teaching on the Mountain" based on Matthew 5:1-12.
Pianist Bill McKim will share a prelude of "Offertoire" by L. Boellmann and postlude of "Dialogue" by F. Couperin. The choir will share an anthem of "Everytime I Feel the Spirit" led and arranged by Steve Rice. The congregational hymns this week are "God of Grace and God of Glory," "Jesu, Jesu, Fill Us with Your Love," and "Since Jesus Came Into My Heart."
Sunday worship at First Congregational is at 10 a.m. preceded by 9 a.m. choir rehearsal. For those with disabilities, there is a ramp leading to the Fireplace Room level, as well as large-print hymnals and bulletins. For a ride to worship in January please call Al at 603-363-4686.
There is an on-going collection of canned fruits and vegetables, pasta and sauces, peanut butter, tuna fish, and cereals for the Drop-In Center’s Food Shelf.
Ongoing weekly events include the Prayer Fellowship at 8:30 a.m. Sundays and the Handicraft group on Tuesdays at 1 p.m. The Monthly Pancake Breakfast will be held next Sunday, Feb. 9, from 8 to 9:30 a.m.
