Frank Smith to be guest speaker at Scottish Rite Freemasons’ dinner

WEST DOVER -- The Scottish Rite Valley of Brattleboro will host Frank Smith as its guest speaker at dinner on Wednesday, Oct. 24, at the Matterhorn Inn at Mount Snow in West Dover.

Smith is a veteran of World War II having served in the 10th Mountain Division during the campaign in the northern mountains of Italy from 1944 to 1945. At 95, he has served the Dover area in different capacities and has been a strong force in developing the ski industry in southern Vermont.

The multi-course dinner, which is open to the public, is $20 a person and will start with a short hospitality period between 6 to 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner and Smith’s presentation. He will be reminiscing about his years in the ski industry and experiences during World War II.
