Goldenbird 22nd in the triple jump

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- The best track and field athletes in New England competed on Saturday at Bridgewater State University.

The Brattleboro Union High School girls 4x100 meter relay team of Eve Pomazi, Danielle Wood, Gwendolyn Harris and Aisha Schor sprinted to a 23rd place finish. They set a personal record for the third straight meet with a time of 53.52.

"Making New Englands is a special accomplishment, but especially for a team made up entirely of freshmen and sophomores," said BUHS coach Dan Barile.

On the boys side, senior Miles Goldenbird finished 22nd in the triple jump with a leap of 37-4.5.

"This was a great experience for him to compete in a big meet before he moves on to competing at the collegiate level," stated Barile. "Our athletes represented our school and the state of Vermont very well this weekend. They should all be proud of what they have achieved and excited about what they are capable of accomplishing in the future."
