Gunfire exchange in Putney leads to arrests


PUTNEY — A gunfire exchange on Friday led to the arrests of four men.

The Vermont State Police received a report on Saturday about a shooting at 57 Hi Lo Biddy Road in Putney. Jason Robison, 31, of Westminster and Putney, was in an altercation with Robull Bryant, 37, of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Alfred Spellman, 36, of Brooklyn, N.Y.

Robison shot at Bryant and Spellman who returned fire, according to police. The incident occurred at about 7 p.m. on Friday.

Spellman and Bryant were arrested at on Hi Lo Biddy Road for reckless endangerment.

Robison was located driving his vehicle nearby. At the time of his arrest, it was determined that he was operating his vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested for DUI and reckless endangerment.

Jason Bunch, 41, of Brooklyn, N.Y., was at the residence at the time of the shooting. He was arrested on an outstanding federal arrest warrant. Bryant also had an active federal arrest warrant.

Police said the investigation is still ongoing but there is no threat to public. Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to contact Det. Sgt. Tyson Kinney of the Vermont State Police.
