Hazard's 22 points paces Rebels
The Rebels had a 33-20 edge in rebounds and took a 17-9 lead to the break.
Tayler Courchesne finished with eight points and seven rebounds to lead the 5-10 Wildcats. Jarrett Niles chipped in with five points.
BRATTLEBORO — The Colonels are currently ranked 10th in the Vermont high school league with 28 points. Randolph (82 points), South Burlington (79) and Springfield (69) are atop the standings.
BRATTLEBORO — In women's league basketball action on Monday at the Gibson-Aiken Center, Chroma downed Austin Design 47-35 and Houghton took care of Marina 54-36.
Jackie Kissel and Laura Wilsie paced Chroma with 18 and 11 points respectively. Bri Moore pumped in a dozen points to lead Austin Design.
Annie Holiday (17 points), Anna White (17) and Brittany Bailey (14) did the damage for Houghton. Ashley Clough drained four trifectas and scored a game-high 19 points for Marina.
In Monday's playoff action, No. 1 Marina (7-3) will take on No. 4 Austin Design (2-8) at 6:20 p.m. and then No. 2 Houghton (6-4) will face No. 3 Chroma (5-5) at 7:30 p.m.
