IBIT Dance holds auditions for company and training program

BRATTLEBORO -- Brenda Lynn Siegel and Amy Softic are bringing their dance company to Brattleboro and will be holding auditions for spots in their company as well as their two pre-professional training programs.

Auditions for IBIT Dance Company will be held this Friday at 17 Elliot St. This audition will be for both the company itself as well as the training programs.

Programs will be offered for modern dancers at the low intermediate level as well as the high intermediate/advanced level. Each level will meet one afternoon a week for three hours. For details, visit www.ibitdance.com or e-mail info@ibitdance.com.

The auditions for the low intermediate level program will be Friday from 3:45 to 5:15 p.m.; auditions for the high intermediate/advanced level are Friday from 5:15 to 6:45 p.m.; auditions for the company are also Friday from 5:15 to 6:45 p.m.

The high intermediate/ advanced level of modern and contemporary dance program will include training in modern dance, contemporary dance and repertoire, a professional alignment assessment and some individual work when preparing for an audition or performance.

The low intermediate level of modern and contemporary dance will include training in contemporary dance, modern dance and ballet. This program will also include a professional alignment assessment and individual work with students when in preparation for an audition or performance.

The goal of the program is to provide students from age 13 through adult with the training and experience necessary to get into college level dance programs as well as dance companies inside and outside of college.

In order to keep the level of the program high and pre-professional, IBIT will hold auditions and asks all students to apply and audition. There is limited space. All students are encouraged to re-apply each semester as their skill level increases.

IBIT Dance Company is seeking strong dancers for their dance company. All dancers must have a strong sense of artistry, breath and technical knowledge of modern dance and ballet. Contact Brenda Siegel and Amy Softic for more information at info@ibitdance.com.
