Ice Cream Social planned to celebrate Charlie and Helen Robb’s 50th anniversary

WEST BRATTLEBORO -- Helen (Thurber) and Charlie Robb will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, July 19, by renewing their vows, followed by an old-fashioned ice cream social.

The Robbs were married on July 25, 1964, at the West Brattleboro Baptist Church. They will be renewing their vows on the lawn of the Robb Family Farm, 827 Ames Hill Road, in West Brattleboro.

To celebrate the event, their four children, seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild, invite the public to an old-fashioned ice cream social held at the farm from 2 to 4:30 p.m. immediately following the ceremony.

This tribute to the dairy farmers recognizes their 48 years of dairying together as well. During the past two years, the family business transitioned to beef production, as well as expanding their maple production to include their own maple candy, cream, sugar and maple ice cream toppings.

The couple have served the Brattleboro community through the years on many boards and committees such as the Farm Bureau, Brattleboro Agriculture Committee, West Brattleboro Baptist Church Deacon and Deaconess, Town Representative in Brattleboro, Brattleboro Housing Commissioner, and Green Mountain Dairy Promotion. Helen also continues to serve on the general committee for Strolling of the Heifers. The Robb Family Farm has also hosted numerous public events over the years, especially to promote agriculture.
