Interstate 91 West River bridge project update
BRATTLEBORO -- Northbound I-91 traffic has been relocated onto the southbound bridge. Traffic will remain reduced to one lane in each direction on I-91 until completion of the new bridge in the Fall of 2015.
The speed limit on Route 30 near the work zone has been reduced to 40 mph. This reduction will remain in effect through the Spring of 2016. Project-related truck activity on Route 30 will continue. Route 30 will be reduced to a single lane intermittently both day and night, with flaggers regulating traffic within the work zone.
Night work on the new bridge will continue at the columns on Route 30. Night work will be conducted Monday night, June 16, through Friday night, June 20.
No project impacts to Upper Dummerston Road are anticipated this week. In July, Upper Dummerston may be closed briefly during daytime hours.
The West River Trail is now open. There are intersections between construction access and the trail path, and users should exercise extreme caution at these intersections. As an additional safety precaution, users of the West River Trail are reminded to keep pets on a leash in this area.
The northbound bridge over the West River has been removed. No impacts to recreational boaters are anticipated for the week of June 15.
