Inspired by the landscapes of New England and particularly the Connecticut River Valley, James Urbaska's paintings uniquely chronicle the rural experience. In this body of new work, Urbaska uses a less descriptive style of painting to convey the essence of the landscape. This mix of abstraction and realism is brought forth with the use of a bolder color palette strengthened through dramatic images.

James Urbaska's shows are greatly anticipated events, drawing collectors worldwide. A native of Montana, he currently lives and paints in Newfane.

Gallery North Star, located in historic Grafton, is dedicated to presenting a diverse selection of work by Vermont's and New England's finest artists in a unique setting. The gallery is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
