Jill Johnson receives degree from Smith

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. -- Jill F. Johnson of Brattleboro, Vt., received a bachelor’s degree from Smith College on May 19. Johnson majored in English Language and Literature at Smith. Her undergraduate activities included working in Smith’s Office of Administration as the Ada Comstock Recruitment Intern. She spent the summer of 2012 at Trinity College at Oxford University. She plans on seeking an MFA in Creative Writing.

Johnson was a student in Smith’s Ada Comstock Scholars Program for students beyond the traditional age.

Before enrolling at Smith, Johnson’s education included George School in Pennsylvania, Guilford College in North Carolina, the University of Ibadan in Nigeria, Community College of Vermont in Brattleboro, and Greenfield Community College in Massachusetts.

Johnson was employed by Sysco Food Service for 18 years and Reinhart Food Service for two years. She and her husband, Dennis Smith, own the Marina Restaurant in Brattleboro.
