BRATTLEBORO >> In a matchup of the league's top two teams on Tuesday at Fort Dummer, the Eagles outlasted Pepsi 14-13. The Eagles led 8-3 after five innings and 14-8 after six, but both times Pepsi staged spirited rallies. The last one fell just short as reliever Tim Velazquez managed to strand the bases loaded. Alex Lier went 3 for 3 and Luke Williams 2 for 4 for the Eagles, who got a two-run double from Conrad Auerbach. For Pepsi, Hunter Beebe lined a triple and scored three times and made a great defensive play at first base to keep the game in reach. Tanner Root cleared the bases with a triple in the seventh.
