Keurig adds Coke's Honest Tea to hot brewing lineup

BURLINGTON -- Expanding a partnership announced earlier this year, Keurig Green Mountain will now offer select Coca-Cola hot beverage brands, starting with Honest Tea, in Keurig's instant brewing machines.

The lineup opens with black tea and unsweetened green tea K-Cup portion packs for Keurig's "Brew Over Ice" products. The marketing suggests brewing hot beverages over ice to make a quick, refreshing drink.

The Honest Tea products offered through Keurig will be certified organic and fair trade, as are all the brand's teas, according to a news release from Keurig.

"Keurig Green Mountain and Honest Tea share a longstanding commitment to organics and fair trade," said Seth Goldman, Honest Tea co-founder. "We're excited to make our tea available in this new convenient format."

The new products are available immediately for online purchase from the U.S.

The companies earlier announced plans to develop a cold beverage brewing system for use with Coke products. Atlanta-based Coca-Cola owns a 16 percent stake in Keurig Green Mountain.
