Pat Burke, Family Services Director at Southeastern Vermont Community Action (SEVCA), stopped by to say thank you to the Kurn Hattin Student Council and Principal Scott Tabachnick. The students had coordinated a "Change War" among all of the residential cottages to donate to SEVCA, a non-profit that serves local families. Loose change was donated and collected in jars, and then totaled up at the end of a week. The Council was able to raise $136 toward fuel assistance for families in need. Burke explained how important such donations are in early spring, when it is still cold at night and state fuel assistance has ended.
