Lady Terriers improve to 3-1
WESTMINSTER -- The Bellows Falls softball team beat Hartford, 8-6, on Friday in the team’s third win of their season.
Chelsea Wilder pitched seven innings, striking out four batters. She also went to work with the bats with two triples and a single scored on three runs.
Allana Shaw had a huge two-run double, Steph Parsons scored two runs and Emily Stoddard had a big day with the glove at the hot corner.
The Terriers travel to Long Trail on Tuesday.
Red Sox 11, Cardinals 5
BRATTLEBORO -- Behind a spectacular all-around performance by Trinley Warren, the Red Sox topped the Cardinals, Friday evening at the South Main Street Little League Field.
Warren tossed a nifty complete game five-hitter, striking out nine while allowing only two earned runs. He also helped spark the offense by going 4-for-4 at the plate, including a triple and three runs scored.
Aaron Petrie duplicated Warren’s line in the box score also going 4-for-4 with a triple and three runs while playing another strong defensive game at second base, as well.
The Red Sox struck for four runs in the first inning, then scored seven more times in the last three innings to put the game away. Shea Buckley chipped in with two hits while Liam Styles and Malick Mane added base knocks of their own.
Ryan Gerard had two hits including a triple and scored twice while Jon Michael McManus had a hit and pitched well for the Cards.
