Larsen named Bellows Falls student of the month

WESTMINSTER >> Trinna Larsen has been named the April Elks Student of the Month for Bellows Falls Union High School.

Larsen, a senior, is the daughter of Torben and Cindy Larsen of Westminster.

Clearly dedicated to her academics, Larsen is a highly motivated young woman who will put forth whatever effort is needed to reach her goals. Through the Vermont Early College program, Larsen, as a senior, is enrolled as a full- time student at the Community College of Vermont, where, after her first semester, she earned the CCV President's Honor Status for earning a 4.0 while enrolled in 12 or more credits. In addition to her classes, Larsen recently completed an internship at VPIRG (Vermont Public Interest Research Group). This semester she is interning in Gov. Peter Shumlin's office.

Last summer, Larsen represented BFUHS and the community at Girls State, a program sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary, where students spend a week actively engaged in learning our government. Through her participation in this program, Larsen was nominated to represent Vermont at Girls Nation where she met President Barack Obama. Recently, Larsen met with and gave a tour to the BFUHS students who attended the Youth Rally for the Planet at the State House where she shared information on the State House and information on her internship in a professional manner.

Congratulations go out to Larsen, who is truly deserving of this award; BFUHS is proud to have her as our representative for April.
